When I was young, I have shared before that we did not have much, but, neither did our neighbors so, we did not know any different. I have written my story about my Aunt in “The Letter” She was married to a Military Admiral and they lived all over the world and had a lot to share. My brother and I were the children she didn’t have and this one Christmas she came to visit us with a 2-week stay. I was 7 and remember it as if it were yesterday. I was the center of attention since my brother was not even 1 at that time yet. She took me shopping and it was about me, what I liked or wanted. It felt like well, it was so nice. That year I got so many things for Christmas mostly ones I picked just for me, but they were a total surprise she never let on that I was getting them just letting me shop, look, eat out and be a kid just she and I. I remember I wanted school to start back I was excited to wear my new coat, boots, shoes, and dresses for days. No, I ask you what kid really wants Christmas vacation to end at 7, not many but, some I know because I was one of them. She and my dad were always close and she always made sure we did not ever do without if that were going to be the case. My Dad worked at the same job for over 40 years, my Mother didn’t work outside the home full time until I was 12. I knew that my Dad had been in an awful accident when I was 5 and had to have a plate put in his head, he had crushed his skull when being thrown from the truck and he did not work for over a year, so I’m sure that was a huge part of what was taking place during some of our toughest times. God was good and faithful to me and my family even as a child. I think that is one reason I started writing my life story over a year ago. So many twist and turns all my life, and in the midst of it all was always, God. He touched me, oh he touched me, and set me free from the Thorns that once had me, and by His Grace, I began to slowly see HIM in everything in my life. When you are feeling down, or in a major crisis, remember that God alone knows what is best for you when you have no idea which way to turn next.
