I am so looking forward to Spring here in Alabama, sharing from last Spring, it was my Mother’s favorite time of year and mine as well. Join me as we smell the Springtime air, hear the Birds singing their “happy songs” and loving every minute of it.
I can not think of a better time of year here in Alabama, with the weather in the 70’s each day I have started my potting and planting. Not to plant too much incase we get that last cold snap in what we call Blackberry Winter, usually the last of April-Now in July it is hot, hot, hot and muggy!
I took some photos toady even under the cloudy skies here at my home front- I thought I’d share just a few of them with you today and hope you share yours here too in comments- So welcome to my home-
The front door says welcome with my Ivy topiary I love and an old basket of new Red Petunias
Earlier this Spring I painted my front door “Crimson Tide Red” from Sherwin Williams, here in Trussville, Alabama. I am happy with the results love-in the door and pop of color-
I also had some red cedar shutters made in early Spring from a man here in the area, for anyone local that is interested he was very reasonable and I also love the shutters in natural with only a clear coat on them-Oh my pillows you ask? Well, they came from Karen at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ElemenOPillows?page=2 I loved working with her and the selection of fabric and sizes she offers is wonderful. Check her our for your quality fabric and work for your home, pillows for the inside and out.
My old wheelbarrow Mr Shabby made me years ago, filled with some eucalyptus and different greens and flowers- Oh, see that Mr Pepper under the wheel, he has to go out with me or he kicks up a fuss-Plus he is a ham!
Around the side of my home at the garage my door says welcome there too- Painted in the same “Crimson Tide Red” the basket is filled with Ivy and a fuchsia Geranium-
My Viburnum bushes are coming alone nicely, I have three-
Flying the American Flags are year round at my home-
I love to Bird watch, and the best way to do that? Have plenty of Bird feeders around the yard- Bits of Vintage has plenty!
I love to plant flowers that come back year after year, we also have a small garden for herbs and veggies, love that too!
Loving the colors I chose for the wicker on the front porch
My fur babies, the rescue Pepper our Cat, he is 1/2 Main-coon and quite the stinker!
