We had vintage (and I use the term very loosely) Berber carpet and I wanted wood. Expensive, wonderful, hand-scraped wood that looked like it had made the journey with the pilgrims over on the Mayflower.
But here’s a little floor math:
New hardwoods = $3500
Painted plywood sub-floor = $120.00
